One of the things I love about Portland is how you think you know the city pretty well and then you discover a new store or restaurant. The city seems to keep you on your toes. One thing I discovered while waiting for my decaf coffee was a flier for something called Ride On. Curious, I grabbed it and took it with me. What I discovered was a non-profit program that wants you and your friends to get home safely after a nite of partying. I thought this would be really great to offer to your guests at your wedding reception. You want them to have fun but you also don’t want anyone getting into an accident driving home.
Here’s how it works:
1. when an individual gets too impaired to drive they call Ride On.
2. Within 30minutes a designated driver will be dropped off at your location.
3. Then they happily drive you home, in your own car.
They are available Friday and Saturday’s from 11pm-3am and it only costs $10.
Whether your guests are staying at a hotel or live here, this is a great idea to share with them. Post it on your wedding website so they know ahead of time. I can also see how it would be great to have their number in your phone for that friend that takes things to the next level…we all know one of those!
Visit their website for more info and see the map of areas covered. www.rideonportland.org Call: 503.235.RIDE
